How to make Fish Biryani


Ingredients Salmon fish - 500 gm Basmati rice - 2 cups Onion for frying - 3 no Onion for gravy - 2 no Salt - as per taste Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp Pepper powder - as per taste Chilli powder - 1 tsp Hot water - for cooking rice Butter - a little Coconut oil - 3 to 4 tbsp Cashew nuts - 1/3 cup Raisins - 1/3 cup Crushed ginger garlic - 2 tbsp Mint leaf - one handful Tomato paste - 1/2 cup Chilli powder - 1/4 tsp Biryani masala - 2 tsp Curd - 1/3 cup Green chilli - as per taste Spices ======= Star anise - 1 Cardamom - 4 Cloves - 5 Cinnamon - small pieces Bay leaf -2 Method Step 1 Marinate the fish using salt, turmeric powder, pepper powder, and chilli powder. Mix well Rest for at least 15mins. Step 2 Turn heat to medium flame. In a pot, add water to cook rice. When water turns hot, add spices, butter, salt, and basmati rice. Mix well. Half cook the rice for about 10mins. Make sure you don't overcook the rice. Drain the rice and keep aside. Step 3 In a Kadai, add coconut oil. When oil becomes hot, add cashew nuts. Saute until color changes. Transfer the cashew to a bowl. Add raisins and saute until raisins bubble lightly. Transfer to a bowl. In the same Kadai, add 3 onion and fry until golden color. Then add marinated fish and half fry both sides. Transfer the fish to another bowl. Step 4 In a pan, use the same oil(which was used to fry the fish) and add sliced onion and salt. Cook until translucent. Add crushed ginger garlic and cook until the raw smell goes. Add one handful of mint leaves and tomato paste. Cook until mushy. Add chilli powder and biryani masala. Mix well. Add curd and mix well. Add fried fish, 1/3 cup of water, green chilli and mix well. Close lid and cook for about 10 - 15 mins. Step 5 Layer the biriyani and turn the heat to low flame. Close lid and cook for about 10mins. Mix the rice without breaking. Fish biriyani is ready! Enjoy!
